Task Description/Responsibilities:

· The Sr. Network Design Engineer works as part of a Network Engineering team in an on-going effort to design and transition to a state-of-the-art high speed network.

· The Network Design Engineer's Roles and Responsibilities include:

· Perform system level analysis, prepare technical designs and solutions, network design, setup and troubleshooting for Cisco routers and switches

· Provide remote and on-site LAN/WAN setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting

· Provide in-house network setup (Cisco routers and switches), design, and troubleshooting

· Some travel may be required.

Education:

· A BS in a technical discipline, plus CCNA Certification

Experience:

· Minimum Nine years of Network Engineering experience with network protocols including TCP/IP, EIGRP, UDP, DHCP, SMTP, RTP, NTP, and SSH *

· Nine years of experience designing, configuration, and testing prototype network configurations prior to installation

· Nine years of LAN/WAN Network Engineering experience installing, maintaining, configuring, and troubleshooting network equipment including Cisco routers and switches

· Nine years of experience troubleshooting and resolving network anomalies on an operational network.

· Must be skilled in the use of routing protocols (EIGRP, OSFP, BGP), understand QOS, be able to implement traffic policing and shaping on a LAN/WAN network and understand GRE tunneling.

· Must be skilled in troubleshooting a converged IP network

Additional Desired Skills/Qualifications:

· Firewall experience is highly desired

· 1 year Cisco CallManager installation experience and completed CIPT training

· 1 year Tandberg VTC use and installation experience

· 1 year Network monitoring tool (HP-OV, OPNET, or equivalent) setup and configuration

· 1 year MSOffice applications experience

· 1 year Apple workstations and Sun servers experience

Special Requirements

· Successful candidates will be able to communicate in English, both orally and in writing

Security Clearance:

· Current TS/SCI Security Clearance required.
