Task Description/Responsibilities:

·         The Hardware Engineer will provide the day-to-day engineering support, and recommend enhancements to the hardware baseline on a High-Visibility Government C2I Life Cycle Support Program.

·         Duties and Responsibilities shall include:

·         Perform failure analyses and identify weaknesses in the fielded configurations.

·         Support Site and Field Service personnel in the resolution of hardware related issues.

·         Support Systems Engineering in hardware requirements development and verification testing.

·         Research end-of-life COTS hardware replacement options, and perform Kepner-Tregoe (KT) based market surveys.

·         Prototype, perform bench and integration testing, prepare Test Reports, prepare Installation/ Integration and Operational documentation for proposed hardware solutions.

·         Research and propose new hardware solutions based on current and future technologies.

·         Provide risk and impact assessment to changes in hardware configurations.

 

Education:

·         A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and at least five (5) years of hardware engineering experience in a DoD C2, C3, or C4ISR Development and/or Life-Cycle Engineering/Support Program.

 

Experience:

·         At least 5 years of practical computer system electronics hardware engineering experience, including:

·         5 years hardware engineering experience including at least 1 year experience with APPLE and SUN hardware.

·         Must have experience with basic electronics test equipment (DMM, Oscilloscope, Cable Testers etc.

·         Must be skilled with basic hand tools and rack-level assembly techniques.

·         Must be proficient with MS Office and Visio drawing applications.

·         Familiar with LAN/WAN technologies.

·         Must be able to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.

·         Experience with Audio, Video and Teleconferencing products/techniques is highly desirable.

 

Security Clearance:

·         Current TS/SCI required (CI or Life Style Poly highly desired)
