Task Description/Responsibilities:

· Individual operates, manages, and monitors the health and status of message systems and worldwide network communications, hardware and software applications

· Troubleshoots and repairs networks, systems, and messaging hardware, software, and peripherals.

· Provides technical expertise, direction, and supervision to contractor staff relative to the optimal performance and configuration of complex large-scale integrated global networks and messaging systems, to include the processing, management, and monitoring of the distribution of Record and CRITIC messages.

· Monitors and manages the network operations of NEWSSTAND, NEWSDEALER, AVENUE, and JWICS and associated connectivity.

· Overseas the network and messaging operations center operations and maintenance activities.

· Manages and coordinates maintenance and repair activities relative to network/system outages

· Monitors, tracks, and evaluates network and messaging health status issues

· Coordinates with users and sites worldwide relative to network and messaging health and status issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

· HS/GED plus 4yrs directly related experience

· Associates Degree in a related engineering discipline plus 2yrs directly related experience

· BS Degree in a related engineering discipline, plus 0yrs directly related experience

Specific Experience Requirements:

Required/Essential Skills/Experience:

· LAN/WAN network experience, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining various networking equipment: routers, switches and associated technologies.

· Demonstrated understanding of large scale network applications including TCP/IP, VOIP, ISDN, IDNX

· Excellent customer interface skills

· Cisco and/or Microsoft certifications a plus

Security Clearance:

· Current DoD Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance required.

· TS/SCI with CI or Life Style Poly Preferred
