Task Description/Responsibilities:

Selected individual will be responsible for all duties related to assisting and collecting and organizing information for preparation of user manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports.

·         Collect and prepare information required for preparation of technical publications.

·         Writing and editing program status documents; ensuring appropriate grammar and format.

·         Preparing CDRL deliveries; preparing miscellaneous written text, providing editorial and integration functions; coordinating layout and organization of documents, obtaining and interpreting data, drawings and specifications through research.

·         Participating in formal reviews of deliverable documents, and ensuring documents meet editorial and Government specifications as required.

·         Performing research, writing, publishing, and controling configuration of manuals and documentation for equipment, system operation, and maintenance.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

·         B.S/BA Degree in English or Journalism or equivalent education and experience.

 

Experience:

·         Qualified Candidates shall possess a minimum of 12yrs of recent Hands-On experience generating technical documents in support of DoD C4I/C4ISR Systems Engineering, Software Development, or Life-Cycle Support Projects.

·         Candidates must be thoroughly familiar with Government technical manual standards.

·         Write and/or edit program plans, facility requirements documents, site installation plans, users manuals, meeting minutes, processes, briefings, and provide graphic support.

·         Demonstrated skill and ability to perform moderately complex professional tasks independently.

·         Strong working knowledge of producing Government documentation, handling of classified information, document production, and records management.

·         Proficient word-processing skills on Macintosh and/or PC, with working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop, and either Visio or Claris Impact drawing tools.

·         Additional Desired Skills/Competencies/pluses:

·   Authored or was a Lead Writer for a software or hardware user manual

·   Working knowledge of Rational ClearCase or CM experience.

·   Either would be considered a plus.

·   Excellent interpersonal skills needed for research and/or document coordination.

 

Security Clearance:

·         Qualified Candidates must be United States citizens, and possess a current Top Secret Clearance

·         Qualified Candidates must also be eligible for access to SCI.

·         Candidates with current TS/SCI are highly desired.
